Conch

Conch are a highly valuable fisheries resource and traditional food source, which however, has been heavily overexploited in many places. On Bonaire, the Conch Restoration Project that ran from 2010 to 2013 and has generated a lot of information on the Lac Bay population of the Queen Conch (Lobatus gigas) about, amongst others, abundance, distribution, reproduction and threats.

On St. Eustatius and the Saba Bank, research is currently being carried out.
