Upcoming Shark Tagging Expedition on the Saba Bank

Little is known about the current state of shark populations in the Dutch Caribbean, even less is known about their behavior and which areas they use as nursery and feeding grounds. This kind of information is essential if we are going to ensure the long-term protection of sharks and rays in our waters.

To find out more, DCNA is organizing a shark tag- ging expedition as part of our Dutch Postcode Lot- tery funded “Save our Sharks” programme. Eight shark researchers with a support crew and two camera teams will be heading out to the Saba Bank from 15th - 22nd October to tag and track sharks.
